The expressive world of Ida Bentinger sparks your imagination and explore the duplexity of human nature. Bentinger works with a great range of media such as; installation, land-art, drawings and paintings. Her often figurative and highly detailed oil paintings, reminds us of the old masters ways of working, where the craft is a part of expressing how humans explore and understand the world.
Bentinger is a natural story teller, and her pictures are often a part of a personal reflection about a specific feeling or experience. Different characters and environments that made specially strong impacts on her, are repeating itself in her visual world. Overall the strongest aspect in her story telling is the relationship we have with nature.
Including how this relationship is affecting our inner emotions and how we act upon our inner animal instincts. Bentinger is driven by beauty and even in her darkest paintings you can trace a ray of light. Artist and set designer Ida Bentinger is based in Bologna, where she received her Master in fine art at Accademia di Belle arti. Her bachelor degree she got from Konstfack Stockholm.
