Painting and nature has always been central in my life.
I paint in oil, in acrylic and in watercolours, which gives me concentration and possibilities to develop my creativity. My painting gives me mindfulness based on yoga and happiness.
I often paint mountains, oceans and lakes, guided by improvisation and dynamic. My favourite colour is different shades of blue, and I am also strongly influenced by the variety of different daylight.
Journeys and emotional sensations create demands to give experiments in colour and form.
I grew up with the canal of Dalsland outside my window and since my childhood the nearness to water and nature has been very important. I live today in the county of Värmland, close to the Bors Lake, and during the summer in the county of Bohuslän.
I was early inspired to paint by teachers as, Carleinar Tellwe, Art lecture, a well-known artist from Dalsland as well as a member of the Bentsfors groupe. Other members were Georg Suttner, Art professor and Arne Isaksson, Art professor.
Carina Stejmar has since year 2007 worked with and exhibited the art installation " The closed room". The installation is directed against men's violence against women and consists at present of own paintings/drawings/ installations with annotations. The installation has been exhibited among others in Gothenburg/Mölndal and other places in Värmland. Carina Stejmar works from 2007 together with artist,author and lawyer/ chief judge F Anders Österlin, official authorities and victims, girls and women's refuges. At present a book is planned to be published in the subject.

Carina Stejmar have been manager in companies as Ericsson, Telia and Wasabröd, and have also been a member of a communal council in Karlstad.

In a maze of contemporary art I find paintings of Carina Stejmar. The titles of the pictures says a lot, like blue sea, fall, Koster, Toscana and Provence.
The artist does not work with over explicitly. Her paintings has not directly an general character. Different signs create codes, which you ought to give sometime to regard. It can even be so, that the artist does not want the reality to dominate. She instead concentrates on how colours, lines and spaces can collaborate to a whole. Through leaving out something her art becomes interesting.
The paintings remind in a way about the abstract expressionists. Carina Stejmar easily changes between fields in blue, red and yellow. Sometimes playing together between calligraphic dots and violently made up ideas. There is an intensive but controlled feeling of exhilaration in her pictorial art, something that also was a part of the expressionists. Just to let the feelings come without too much character of reality. On one hand the light chaotic and uncontrolled and on the other hand looking for balance and personal expression for the motive. In this intersection Carina Stejmar´s painting will be the most creative and exciting.
The interesting in this moment is that the picture comes to her. The feelings and the intuition guides her during the process. I can not even exclude that she uses the coincidence. Through that she can find objects and actions, which can be interesting in her painting language.
- But isn’t it so, that Carina Stejmars paintings are traced by the impressionism, as she catches the moment, somebody perhaps objects.Off course it is. Not in the same way as Monet, but still. The summary is in her art.
She catches the light, reflexions, the sea and the nuances of the landscape. And she makes it with dash which give sweet aftertaste. Carina Stejmars artistry, with painting in acrylic, oil and watercolour is booth fantasy inciting and stimulating to take part of.
