Lundeberg’s The Blue Hour (2014) was created in cooperation with the composer
Ann Helling. The film comprises filmed and animated material, as well as voices
and tones, where the cembalo is dominant. The work revolves around an
elderly and confused woman, who travels through time and space with the aid
of her memories and episodes in her life. She moves back and forth from her
retirement home to her childhood days. The film resembles a poetic saga, where
romance is combined with darkness, almost burlesque. Interiors and mysterious
portals inspire the imagination and are interwoven with the bare walls of the
retirement home and the depressing rubbish dumps, to fateful tones and emotional
phrases. All the actors in the film are people who are close to Lundeberg or
Helling. One actor is the artist’s daughter, who sets the tone. She reappears in
several works of art. Angelica Blomhage Curator/Skribent
